OUR UNIT 409 STORY
Unit 409 brings Family Pack 409 and Family Troop 409 together as one welcoming Scouting family. Young people can begin their Scouting journey in Cub Scouts and continue into Scouts BSA as they grow—supported by families and volunteers who believe adventure builds character, confidence, leadership and lifelong friendships.
FAMILY PACK 409
Cub Scouting
Family Pack 409 gives elementary-age youth and their families a fun, hands-on introduction to Scouting through outdoor adventures, Pinewood Derby, games, service projects, advancement and family activities.
Meets Thursdays at 7:00 PM
FAMILY TROOP 409
Scouts BSA
Family Troop 409 helps young people ages 11–17 grow through outdoor adventure, practical skills, advancement, service and meaningful youth-led leadership.
Meets Tuesdays at 7:00 PM
ONE UNIT. SHARED SUPPORT.
Built to Help Both Programs Thrive.
Pack 409 and Troop 409 each provide an age-appropriate program and distinct youth experience. Behind them is a shared Unit 409 Committee that coordinates administration, membership, finances, communications, equipment and resources for the whole Scouting family.
HOW UNIT 409 WORKS
Different roles work together so every Scout can enjoy a safe, organized and meaningful program.
CHARTERED ORGANIZATION
Knights of Columbus Council #12267 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church provides the community home and organizational support for Unit 409.
SHARED UNIT COMMITTEE
A shared committee supports both Pack 409 and Troop 409 through planning, administration, finances, membership, equipment and communications.
FAMILY PACK 409
The Cubmaster and den leaders deliver a family-centered Cub Scout program designed for elementary-age youth.
FAMILY TROOP 409
The Scoutmaster and adult leaders guide a youth-led program built around patrols, outdoor adventure, skills, advancement, service and leadership.
FAMILIES & VOLUNTEERS
Parents and registered volunteers bring time, talents and encouragement that help both programs serve Scouts well.

Our dedicated volunteers work together to support Family Pack 409 and Family Troop 409. From program leadership to administration and planning, each leader helps provide a safe, welcoming and meaningful Scouting experience for our youth and families.
